Terms and Conditions

These terms govern your use of spanishbyclaudia.com (the "Site") and the one-on-one Spanish lessons offered through it (the "Service"). The Service is provided by Claudia, based in Querétaro, México (the "Teacher").

By creating an account or booking a lesson you confirm that you have read and accept these terms and our Privacy Notice. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Site.

1. Who can use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old. If you are younger, a parent or legal guardian must create the account, book the lessons and be present or responsible during them.

2. Your account

• Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Your account is personal: do not share it or let someone else use it.
• Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has accessed it.
• We may ask you to change your password, or give you a temporary one, if we need to help you recover access.

3. Lessons, booking and payment

• Lessons are taught 100% in Spanish. They are one-on-one and take place online. Available times are shown in your time zone, which is detected automatically and can be changed on the schedule page. The Teacher's local time is Querétaro, México.
• When you choose a time, we hold it for you for 15 minutes so you can pay. If payment is not completed in that time, the booking expires and the time is released for other students.
• Prices are shown in US dollars before you pay. Payments are processed by PayPal; we never see or store your card details.
• Your booking is confirmed once payment is completed, and we send you an email.

4. Rescheduling and no refunds

• All payments are final: lessons are not refunded. Instead, you can reschedule.
• You can reschedule a paid lesson from your account to any open time, as long as you do it at least 24 hours before it starts. Inside that window, please contact the Teacher, who may be able to help but is not obliged to.
• If you do not attend a lesson or cancel inside the window without rescheduling, the lesson is considered given.
• If the Teacher has to cancel a lesson, you can choose a new time at no cost. If she cannot offer you any time that works, we will refund that lesson.
• You can release a time you reserved but have not paid for at any moment; unpaid reservations also expire on their own.

5. Respectful conduct

Lessons and all communication on the Site must be respectful and safe for everyone. You agree not to:

• harass, threaten, insult or discriminate against anyone because of their origin, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age or any other personal characteristic;
• make sexual, abusive or otherwise inappropriate comments or requests;
• record, photograph or share lessons or the Teacher's image or voice without her written consent;
• share, resell or publish the lesson materials, or pass them off as your own;
• impersonate another person, create fake accounts, or post false or misleading reviews;
• misuse the booking system, for example by reserving times with no intention of attending, or by trying to break or overload the Site.

6. Suspension and termination

If you break these terms, especially the rules on respectful conduct, we may warn you, suspend your account, or disable it permanently, with or without notice depending on how serious the breach is. A disabled account cannot sign in.

Lessons already paid for that the Teacher decides not to deliver because of a breach may not be refunded; in other cases we will review the situation fairly. You can contact us to ask for a review of a decision.

You may stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Notice).

7. Materials and content

Lesson materials, texts, videos and the design of the Site belong to the Teacher or their licensors. You may use the materials for your own personal learning only.

If you post a review, you confirm it is truthful and your own, and you allow us to display it on the Site with your first name (and your country, if you provided it). Reviews are checked before they are published, and we may remove content that breaks these terms.

8. No guarantee of results

Progress depends on many factors, including your own practice. We do our best to teach with care, but we cannot guarantee a specific level or result.

9. Availability and liability

We work to keep the Site and lessons available, but interruptions can happen (for example internet or technical problems). If a lesson cannot take place for those reasons, we will offer you a new time or a refund.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the lesson affected. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived by law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date of the latest version appears at the top of this page, and we will notify you of important changes. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the new version.

11. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of México. For any dispute, the courts of Querétaro, México will be competent, without affecting any mandatory rights you have as a consumer where you live.
